Non-statutory consultation is now closed

Ossian’s latest round of public consultation closed on Sunday 13th of April 2025. The consultation materials from this period are available to view or download by visiting our documents page here.

The team would like to say thank you to everyone who provided feedback on our proposals.

All the feedback that we have received is carefully considered and will be reviewed and summarised in an end of consultation summary report. A further round of public consultation will take place later in 2025.

Non-statutory consultations provide local communities, stakeholders and other interested parties the opportunity to engage with the Ossian project team early in the planning process. The feedback collected during the non-statutory consultation will inform the design and development of the project.

What we consulted on?

We sought views and feedback on the following areas as part of the non-statutory consultation period.

Offshore transmission infrastructure

  • Offshore cables from the wind farm array to landfall.

Landfall

  • Where the Offshore cables are brought ashore and jointed to the Onshore Cables

Onshore transmission infrastructure

  • Onshore cables from the landfall to onshore converter stations.
  • One converter station at the Lincolnshire Connection Node; and
  • Two converter stations at Weston Marsh.
  • Onshore cables between onshore converter stations and the points of connection to the National Grid.

Onshore cables will be installed below ground along this corridor. No overhead lines are being proposed as part of the Ossian Transmission Infrastructure. We expect these cables to be installed using open trenching techniques, with trenchless techniques such as horizontal directional drilling, being employed where the route crosses features such as major roads or watercourses and/or environmentally sensitive areas.
